The 34th humanitarian aid convoy that Russia has assembled for residents of Ukraine’s southeast (Donbas) since August 2014 is headed for the border with Ukraine, a representative of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told RIA Novosti early on Thursday.
The convoy will deliver the aid to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions that have been severely affected by fighting between Kiev forces and independence supporters, which started in April 2014.
Russia has also been helping deliver aid gathered by social and volunteer organizations in Cyprus for residents of Ukraine’s southeast.
