Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Wednesday with Russia's deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich.
Dvorkovich asserted his country's desire to promote cooperation with Egypt in all fields topped by economy.
Moscow has an interest in having investments in the Suez Canal development project, said presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef.
Other projects including a logistics hub in Dameitta are also eyed by Russia, added the spokesman.
President Sisi expressed satisfaction over the outcome of his talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and other Russia top officials at all political and economic levels, said the spokesman.
The president highlighted the importance of promoting industrial cooperation through new projects to meet local, regional and African needs, he said.
A Russian delegation was agreed to visit Cairo to mull best options to carry out such projects, added the spokesman.
The president welcomed Russian investments in all fields including the Suez Canal development projects and the planned logistics hub.
Sisi reviewed measures taken to attract foreign investments in Egypt.
The Russia deputy premier expressed preparedness to cooperate with Egypt in the field of education.
The president welcomed further cooperation in this domain.
