South Korea's economy could slip into a protracted economic slump that it might not be able to get out of, the finance minister said Friday, reaffirming that the government will continue its expansionary fiscal policy to boost its growth.
"Given the multitude of situations confronting the economy, a sense of urgency is mounting that the economy could get mired in a protracted economic slump that it might not be able to get out of if we miss chances," Finance Minister Choi Kyung-hwan told a meeting with other policymakers.
