The UK's inflation rate rose last month to its highest since September 2013, official figures show.

    The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said that the UK's consumer price index - the key measure of inflation - was 2.7%, up from 2.3% in March, and above the 2.6% forecast by economists before the release.
