British unemployment fell to 7.6 percent in the three months to September from 7.7 percent in the three months to August, official data showed on Wednesday. The Bank of England, under new head Mark Carney, does not plan to raise its main interest rate from its current record-low level of 0.50 percent at least until Britain's unemployment rate falls to seven percent, under a so-called "forward guidance" policy. The Office for National Statistics added on Wednesday that the number of unemployed people has fallen to 2.47 million.
