Daesh

Former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis at the U.S. Treasury Department Matthew Levitt urged on Friday isolating Daesh from the international financial system through blocking banks located in areas of Iraq that are under Daesh control from the international financial system, according to the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
The US official also called on developing new tools and techniques to deal with an evolving illicit finance threat of Daesh.
Levitt called for continuing airstrikes targeting Daesh financial hubs, including oil refineries as well as smuggling routes known to be used to move oil and other contraband.
