President Nicolas Maduro announced that the Venezuelan economy ended the year with a growth of 1.6%. During a press conference, Maduro said that growth in 2014 "will be above that number." According to the economic assumptions included in the national budget this year, the Executive Office estimated the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would expand by 6%.
