Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al Moayyad has affirmed the importance of activating and developing Bahraini-Swedish economic and investment relations in all fields and at all levels.
He called for the need to strengthen joint economic ties between the business community in Bahrain and Sweden through increasing coordination and cooperation between their chambers of commerce.
Al Moayyad made the statements during his meeting with some members of the Board of Directors of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and Swedish investors, in the presence of BCCI’s First Deputy Chairman Othman Sharif Al-Rayyes, Second Deputy Chairman Jawad Yussef Al Hawaj, Deputy Treasurer Mohammed Sajed Idhhrar Al Haq, CEO Nabil Abdulrahman Al Mahmood and other officials.
The two sides discussed a number of visions and recommendations aiming to increase the volume of bilateral trade, currently estimated at about 46.4 USD according to the latest indicators issued by the Central Informatics Organisation (CIO).
They also called for the need to intensify visits of economic delegations, holding joint events to highlight the available investment opportunities and enhance cooperation in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Swedish side called for the need to take advantage of Bahraini-Swedish trade relations to develop bilateral trade and launch joint projects between businessmen from the two kingdoms.
The Swedish delegation highlighted the progress of various economic sectors in Sweden, such as Industry, technology and medical and agricultural research, and discussed the possibility of sending Bahraini high studies students to study in Sweden to acquire knowledge and experience in advanced scientific research in all fields.
It also highlighted the possibility of cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship, which Sweden allocates great importance.
