Mr. Adnan Al Mahmood, the Information Technology and Knowledge Manager at GPIC was unanimously elected as Deputy Chairman of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration, representing the private sector on the Institute\'s Board of Directors. The election of Mr. Al Mahmoud was confirmed during a meeting held by the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration held on December 28th, in the presence of the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Institute. Mr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, GPIC President, expressed his happiness and pride that a member of the GPIC Executive Management should become Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration, a move which confirms the confidence of the community and its institutions in the Company. He added that the institute would benefit from Mr. Al Mahmood’s experience, stressing that the Company is happy to number such highly qualified individuals among its workforce. He added that the great interest given by the GPIC Board of Directors, chaired by H.E Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, in the development and training of talented personnel has resulted in a number of them becoming involved in various institutions in society at large. The Company President wished that Mr. Adnan Al Mahmood continue to enrich the Institute with his skills and wide experience in information. For his part, Mr. Al Mahmood thanked the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration for electing him to the post of Deputy Chairman of the Institute, adding that he will be happy to carry him new responsibilities and will contribute to the service of society, stressing that this new honour will motivate him to redouble his efforts as he strives to provide expertise and contribute to the enrichment of the Institute\'s work. Mr. Al Mahmoud also thanked all members of the executive management at GPIC, headed by the President, for their support and assistance. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Al Mahmood holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics and has attended numerous training courses in the field of executive management, information technology and effective leadership. He has also given a number of lectures and worksheets, representing GPIC at a number of local, regional and global conferences. With regard to the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration, Mr. Adnan has already participated as a coach for many management courses at the institute, and overseen many of the Institute’s projects. The Bahrain Institute of Public Administration was founded in 2006 to develop public administration and training in the ministries and institutions of the Kingdom. BIPA contributes to the preparation and training of staff, in accordance with the requirements of training and development programmes, as wee as carrying out research and advisory work approved by the Board of Directors of the Institute to ensure upgrading of public administration. The Institute works to develop the skills and competencies of employees in government ministries to enhance productivity and improve the quality of services provided to customers through a number of internationally recognized training programmes.
