Bombardier Transportation, the rail equipment unit of Canadian giant Bombardier, said Tuesday it has signed a contract to build 300 subway cars for the New York underground. The contract is worth $599 million (482 million euros), the company said. The cars will be built in Bombardier\'s Plattsburgh plant in the state of New York, with the first 10 to be delivered in the third quarter of 2014 followed by the rest between mid-2015 and early 2017, the statement said.
