A South Korean consortium and Samsung C&T Corp.'s trading and construction unit have each won orders for power plants in Algeria worth a combined US$2.77 billion, their officials said Thursday. The consortium, which consists of trading firm Daewoo International Corp., top builder Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. and industrial plant builder Hyundai Engineering Co., won an order to build two power plants worth a total of $1.4 billion in Algeria.
