Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. said Wednesday it has opened a research and development (R&D) center to conduct studies for submarines and warships. The R&D center is comprised of about 50 researchers in four groups, the company said. The number of researchers will be increased by 50 percent by 2015, it said.
