European aerospace group EADS said Thursday that its 2011 net profit leapt by 87 percent to 1.03 billion euros ($1.35 billion). EADS, which owns the plane maker Airbus also said its sales had gained 7.0 percent to 49.1 billion euros and that its operating profit amouted to 1.8 billion euros, a figure the group expected to raise to 2.5 billion this year.
