ExxonMobil recently donated AED151,000 to Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) to support the UAE humanitarian agency's domestic and international efforts to help the underprivileged and victims of natural disasters.
Vice President of ExxonMobil, Hatem Shaker, handed over the U.S. company's donation to Humaid Rashid Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of ERC for International Aid, last week during his visit to the agency's headquarters in Abu Dhabi
Al Shamsi hailed ExxonMobil's donation as a positive gesture that shows the company's humanitarian responsibility towards the underprivileged segments targeted by ERC's operations.
During the meeting, attended by other ExxonMobil officials, Al Shamsi gave a presentation on ERC's humanitarian operations and partnerships with individual and corporate supporters as part of its efforts to help the victims of conflicts and disasters.
He noted that the agency's operations continue to expands in humanitarian hot spots thanks to the support provided by its partners.
For his part, Shaker noted that ExxonMobil's latest donation is part of its corporate social responsibility towards the community in the areas where it has business operations.
He expressed appreciation of ERC's domestic and international humanitarian efforts.
