South Korea's No. 2 tech giant, LG Electronics Inc., applied for a trademark for its future smartwatch with the United States, records showed Friday. The website of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office said LG filed for the trademark last week, describing the "W Watch" as having "the function of wireless communications with electronic terminals such as smartphones, tablet computers, PDA, (and) computers."    The wearable gadget can be used to record, transmit and display information on exercise, body-fat percentage and BMI, according to the website
