About nine Omani companies signed agreements for more than 100 applications for exporting marble to Austria, Egypt, Italy, Algeria, Ireland, Libya and Egypt. The value of such orders ranged between $8000 to $10,000. The signing ceremonies came on the sidelines of the Sultanate\'s participation at the 48th version of the international exhibition for marble ( Marmomack), which was recently organized in Italy. \"Oman\" newspaper quoted Naseemah bint Yahya al-Balushiyah, Director General of the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development as saying that the agreements serve as an evidence for the advanced level reached by this industry in the Sultanate. She added that the Authority is looking forward for more participations by marble and stone manufacturers at the exhibition that will be held next year. She also said that the Omani pavilion at the exhibition attracted more than 800 visitors. The exhibitors displayed a unique range of marble and stones in the Sultanate. 22% of the exhibitors at the Sultanate\'s pavilion signed marble export agreements with a number of marble distribution companies in Italy. \'The exhibition included a workshop on the latest technologies used in marble manufacturing and mining.
