World class energy supplier RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) has bolstered its leading commitment to excellence by renewing Quality, Environment and Occupation Health and Safety Certification. The recertification of RasGas’s ISO Quality Management (ISO 9001:2008), Environment Management (ISO 14001:2004) and Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSAS 18001:2007) systems was assessed and awarded by British Standards Institutions (BSI), a global certifier of management systems with more than 60,000 clients. Since 1999 when RasGas received its first ISO Certification (ISO 9001) it has gained further prestigious certificates in the field of safety, health, environment and quality. RasGas chose BSI as the body to renew its ISO certification, bringing the benefits of an objective evaluation to RasGas’ stakeholders. It also allows RasGas’ management to oversee systematic and continuous improvement of its practices, thereby better satisfying its customers. In attendance was Hamad Mubarak Al-Muhannadi, RasGas’ Operations Manager, who stated that RasGas’ steady focus on accident prevention, improving operating practices and commitment to best practice and quality has established it as an industry leader, and therefore it places a high importance on achieving certification. \"RasGas uses the framework of RasGas Elements for Excellence to control and manage safety, security, health and environmental risks. This approach has enabled RasGas to achieve certifications in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001,\" said Brett Doherty, Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Group Manager. \"This framework enables RasGas to meet the requirements of these international standards because it guarantees the full alignment of strategy and operations of the organization due to the framework’s design of integrating what would otherwise be separate safety, health environment management systems,\" he said.
