UHD TVs

South Korean electronics companies Samsung and LG aim to push their ultra-high definition (UHD) TVs for combined sales of close to five million units, industry officials said Sunday.
Both companies anticipate rapid expansion of UHD TV demand, up to 12 million units this year from 1.6 million last year, according to a Korean news agency report.
According to officials of both brands, the companies hope to clinch up to 40% of the global market share in the second half of 2014 with new models of larger screens and curved innovations.
Samsung will start sales of the industry’s first bendable Ultra HD (UHD) TV this week.
The 78-inch UHD TV has ‘UHD Dimming’ technology, as well as a ‘Black Crystal Panel’, to provide users with a more vivid screen, Samsung said.
