The Egyptian capital is in for a cold snap after UAE-based developer Majid Al Futtaim opened a 165-000-square-meter shopping complex in Cairo Thursday, complete with an indoor ski slope similar to Ski Dubai.
The new mall – named The Mall of Egypt – is also home to a games arcade and multi-screen VOX cinema with a total of 21 theaters housing one 4DX screen, four Gold screens, one IMAX screen, two screens for children and 13 regular screens with a total of 2,473 seats.
The two-level mall also boasts parking for 6,500 vehicles.
According to a released statement, $722 million was invested in the mall, signaling hopes that the venture will attract “great fanfare from crowds eager to be the first to experience Egypt’s latest shopping and entertainment hub.”
The Mall of Egypt is located in 6th of October City on Al Wahat Road, along Cairo’s Western Growth Corridor.
Majid Al Futtaim currently owns and operates 21 shopping malls across the Middle East and North Africa.
