Beijing - Arabstoday
Soybean imports by China, the biggest buyer, rose for a third month, adding to concerns that growing domestic supply may outpace demand from the livestock industry after hog diseases and a drought cut livestock herds. Inbound shipments were 4.56 million metric tonnes in May, gaining from 3.88 million tonnes in April, the Beijing-based customs office said. The gain will further swell already large domestic inventories, said Cao Huimin, analyst at China Cereals & Oils Business Net. Soybeans in Chicago have dropped 1.8 per cent this year.
