Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.44%, at 3,136.77 points. 
The smaller Shenzhen index closed 0.71% higher at 9,976.19 points. 
The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.35% to close at 1,887.32 points.
