Chinese shares rise on opening

Chinese stocks opened lower on Tuesday, but staged a V-shaped rally during the afternoon session, supported by furniture and healthcare shares.

    The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went up 0.16% to close at 3,089.71 points. The Shenzhen index closed 0.18% higher at 10,750.29 points. 

    The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was up 0.31% to close at 2,174.16 points. Turnover shrank slightly to 460.1 billion yuan (about 69.08 billion US dollars) from the previous trading day.
