The Egyptian Exchange (EGX)made its biggest daily gains during 2016 at the close of Monday's trading.
The EGX made gains worth 15 billion pounds backed by intensive purchases by investment funds, foreign Arab and local institutions.
The market capital gained about 15 billion pounds to reach 428 billion pounds.
The EGX 30 benchmark index went up by 6.7 percent to 7,003.85 points.
The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) increased by 1.79 percent to hit 360.52 points.
The all-embracing EGX 100 index rose as well by 3.35 percent to close at 758.3 points.
