Indonesian shares closed lower by 69.52 points, or 1.33 percent, to a level of 5,146.03 on Wednesday.

Some 262,215 transactions were booked, involving 7.17 billion shares worth 6.77 trillion rupiah (511.79 million U.S. dollars).

Losers led gainers 230 to 78 with 76 remaining stagnant.
