Nikkei fell almost across the board Thursday following the overnight loss in Wall Street. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average slumped 135.74 points, or 1. 51 percent, to 8,837.15, its lowest close since Oct. 17. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 10.36 points, or 1.39 percent, at 735.35. The paper makers, steelmakers and mining companies led the market\'s decline, while utilities is the only gainer. The turnover was about 958.1 billion yen (about 11.98 billion U. S. dollars).
