Nikkei fell sharply Wednesday as a pause of yen\'s slide. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 278.64 points, or 2. 56 percent, from Tuesday to 10,600.44. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 18.11 points, or 2.00 percent, at 888.11. All 33 sectors declined, led by the sea transport, real estate and securities sectors. The turnover was about 2,026 billion yen (about 22.94 billion U. S. dollars).
