Nikkei closed higher Tuesday as the yen\'s weakening against other major currencies further improved the expectations for Japanese exporters\' earnings. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average closed up 140.06 points, or 1.41 percent, from Friday at 10,080.12. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 5.29 points, or 0.64 percent, to 838.01. Japan\'s financial markets were closed Monday for a national holiday. Gainers included brokerage houses, real estate developers and consumer finance firms. Decliners included mining, oil and land transport companies. The turnover was about 1,153.2 billion yen (about 13.61 billion U.S. dollars).
