South Korean stocks opened higher Wednesday. The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 8.3 points, or 0.42 percent, to trade at 2,006.24 in the first 15 minutes of trading. The local currency was trading at 1,062.95 won against the U.S. dollar as of 9:15 a.m., up 0.05 won from Tuesday\'s close.
