Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 7.89 points, or 0.27 percent, to close at 2,958.82. A total of 2.21 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 31 billion Singapore dollars (1.07 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers 199 to 179, while 581 others finished unchanged. The STI index gained 5.3 points, or 0.18 percent, to close at 2, 950.93 on Monday.
