Ministry of State for follow-up, in cooperation with the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), today held a workshop on (Strengthening governance in ministries and government institutions). Minister of State for Follow-up Affairs, Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutawa, and President of HRH Prime Minister's Court, Shaikh Hussam bin Isa Khalifa, attended the workshop.Governance and Administrative Development Advisor and UNDP's expert in democratic governance, Dr. Zuhair Al-Kaed, delivered the lecture, with the participation of a number of high officials of ministries and government agencies.Follow-up State Minister said the workshop comes as part of the efforts made by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to disseminate and enhance the culture of governance in government agencies and to strengthen regulation and transparency tools and to preserve public money.He underlined the role of governance in achieving the highest level of partnership among government institutions and in developing participation in decision-making in various government institutions.He added the government seeks to establish a regional center tasks with governance in the government sector, within a plan to disseminate the concept and culture of governance in all state institutions.He explained that the concept of governance is based on competitiveness among all government sectors to reach a high level of efficiency to provide best services to citizens.The workshop included three sessions, the first session tackled the concepts, definitions, components and the positiveness of governance, the second one addressed features, types, basic properties and requirements of governance to achieve growth, quality and excellence, while the third reviewed methodology of governance, in addition to a number of successful experiences in the same area.
