The Cabinet has approved the establishment of a company for the planned furniture city project in Damietta.
In its weekly meeting on Wednesday under Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, the Cabinet approved a request by Damietta Governorate to have in-kind shares in the company.
The planned city is to contribute to environment protection and the creation of some 100,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.
The Cabinet also approved the re-allocation of areas of land for the establishment of a new urban city to be named "The New Obour City".
