Credit card spending in South Korea rose 9.5 percent last year from a year earlier as more people tapped cards for their transaction convenience and turned to card loans, the central bank said Tuesday. Credit card spending amounted to 541 trillion won (US$479 billion) last year, up 47.1 trillion won from a year earlier, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
