Tyre maker Dunlop India has suspended operations at its plant here citing labour unrest. In a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the Rs.174 crore turnover company said unruly behaviour of workers at the Ambattur plant had caused heavy damages to its property, besides causing mental agony and torture to the management staff and their families. According to the company, the workers had not adhered to the long term settlement (LTS) signed by the company with the employees union in 2009 and put hurdles in the smooth functioning of the plant.
