The European Union is delaying a summit by almost a week to October 23 to give leaders more time to finalise a response to the eurozone debt crisis, the EU\'s president said on Monday. \"After a round of consultations last week and over the weekend... on developments in the euro area, I have decided to convene the European Council and the eurozone summit a week later on Sunday 23 October,\" Herman Van Rompuy said in a statement.
