The European Commission has proposed on Monday 150 million Euros as aid package to farmers hit by the E.coli outbreak, the BBC said. Sales of vegetables have decreased in light of the outbreak which killed 22 people and infected 2400 so far. The EU health commissioner said the outbreak was limited to north Germany and did not need Europe-wide controls. Although Canadian authorities said earlier today that they suspect they have their first E.Coli infection which hit a man living near Toronto. EU agriculture ministers are holding crisis talks in Luxembourg. The source of E.Coli is undetermined, German officials first said that Spanish Cucumbers but now scientists believe that Radish seeds and sprouts cannot be ruled out as a source as well. European agriculture commissioner Dacian Ciolos told journalists before the talks that he will propose 150 million Euros. Compensation will cover the period from late May to late June but the amount paid could change once each country\'s reported losses are known, according to Ciolos.
