The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) announced that utilizing domestically-made parts and equipment stands atop the NIOPDC's part-supply policy, and said the company has met around 90 percent of its demands through domestic products.
“Oil products distribution sector uses 35 thousand general and specialized parts and items, 90 percent of them manufactured by domestic companies,” Commercial Manager of the NIOPDC Mohammad Reza Mazzloumi said.
He further added that relying on domestic capabilities is very important for the company and that is why the company has provided the bulk of its needs to equipment and parts through purchasing domestically made products.
In July, a deputy oil minister said that the Iranian Oil Ministry plans to enhance domestic manufacturing of the equipment needed in the oil and gas industry.
Rokneddin Javadi, who is also the Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said 10 groups are to be established to indigenize manufacturing of strategic commodities for the oil industry.
