Gaza is suffering from shortages of basic supplies and fuel

Israeli forces blockading the Gaza Strip on Tuesday halted the entry of fuels, including industrial diesel used for electricity generation, after a deadly fire caused by an explosion at the fuel tanks along a border crossing, a Palestinian official said.
Eng. Raed Fattouh, head of the Palestinian committee coordinating the access of goods into Gaza, said that the passage of fuel via the Karem Abu Salem crossing in the southeast of the coastal territory came to a halt following the blaze.
He said that 300 trucks laden with aid and other goods destined for Gaza's commercial, agricultural and transport sector were due to cross into the besieged territory today.
Earlier in the day, fire engulfed diesel and fuel oil pipes that feed Gaza's sole electricity generation plant, killing one Palestinian and injuring two, one seriously.
