Activities of Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) Conference on the pipeline of hydrocarbons in the Arab countries, begins in Cairo tomorrow, Tuesday, in cooperation with the Japan Cooperation Center, and the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum, with participation of Member States of the Organization. The conference, which runs until next Thursday addresses the current situation and future projects for the oil and gas pipelines in the Arab countries and will review the most important technical challenges and economic problems facing the sector of transporting hydrocarbons by pipeline and identify ways to overcome them. The Conference also addresses the economies of hydrocarbon pipelines, environmental protection measures, the rationalization of energy consumption in pipelines systems, pipeline maintenance, emergency repair procedures and techniques in corrosion control of pipelines. The Conference will review a number of papers to be presented by specialists in the companies of the Member States of OAPEC, which will address the existing hydrocarbons transport pipeline projects and techniques of operation and maintenance as well as future projects of this important industry in addition to similar papers to be presented by experts from the Japanese Center for Cooperation Petroleum.
