Russia’s Audit Chamber will examine all draft laws and public programmes that require budget funding, the newspaper Izvestia said on Thursday, January 9, citing the Chamber’s press service. Every draft law will go to the relevant section of the Audit Chamber, whose experts will then present their findings and conclusions. “There are all legal grounds for the Audit Chamber to examine draft laws and other regulatory facts to the extent to which they incur budget expenditures,” the press service said. Last year, the president instructed the government to work out the procedure for submitting for the Audit Chamber’s examination draft federal laws, public programmes and other documents connected with the use of budget funds.
