Slovenian companies exported 2.03 billion euros(2.31 billion US dollars) worth of goods in February, registering a year-on-year rise of 7.9 percent, official statistics show.

The country's industrial output expanded in February at an annual rate of 6.6 percent, up by 0.1 percent from January.

After strong growth in exports in January, the value of Slovenian goods shipped abroad in the first two months now stands at 3.85 billion euros, which is 4.7 percent more than that of the same period last year.

Imports in the same month stood at 1.91 billion euros, which is 1.6 percent more than a year ago, figures released by the Slovenia Statistic Office show.

The annual industrial growth came due to a 8.6 percent expansion in manufacturing output and a 4.4 percent increase in mining and quarrying, although the output of electricity, gas and steam declined by 4.2 percent.

Industrial sales revenue in February rose by 11 percent year-on-year and by 4.1 percent from January, while inventories increased by 4.2 percent compared to February 2015 but fell by 0.2 percent from January 2016.
