The US-Africa Leaders Summit (August 4-6, Washington DC) is an opportunity to highlight Morocco’s assets as a platform for Africa, said on Sunday in Washington, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar.
Morocco, which has accumulated significant experience in Africa, is a credible partner for both the European Union and the United States as far as partnerships in Africa are concerned, Mezouar told MAP.
Morocco’s participation in this first US-Africa summit aims to contribute to projects that primarily concern Africa and place the human dimension at the heart of its strategies, he stressed, adding that the intended objective is promoting win-win and solidarity-based partnerships in favour of Africa.
Following King Mohammed VI’s visit to Washington last November and the summit that brought together the Sovereign and President Obama, three axes of cooperation were put at the top of priorities, notably food security, energy and trade, recalled Moroccan FM, noting that triangular cooperation is a key to achieving the desired goals.
