The United States and China will hold the sixth meeting of their strategic and economic dialogue in Beijing on July 9 and 10, the US State and Treasury Departments announced Monday.
US Secretary of State John Kerry and Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew will be joined by their respective Chinese co-chairs, State Councilor Yang Kiechi and Vice Premier Wang Yang, the State Department said in a statement.
The dialogue will focus on “addressing the challenges and opportunities that both countries face on a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global areas of immediate and long-term economic and strategic interests,” the department wrote.
Alongside the strategic and economic dialogue meetings, Kerry will participate in the fifth annual U.S.-China consultation of people-to-people exchange in coordination with Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong, the department said.
One day before the strategic and economic dialogue talks, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns will co-host the fourth strategic security dialogue in Beijing with his Chinese counterpart, Executive Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui, the statement said.
