Angelica Panganiban is finally speaking up about her break-up with Derek Ramsay and rumours linking her to John Lloyd Cruz. In an interview with tabloid!, the actress also denied causing the break-up of her Banana Split co-star John Pratts and beauty queen-turned-actress Bianca Manalo. Q: How have you been since the break-up with Derek? A: Better, but honest enough to admit that I’m still hurting. We’ve been together for so many years, there’s just too many memories. Q: Was there a third party involved? A: No, it was a mutual decision. I hear a lot of people saying so many things, but the truth is, Derek ... [is] the best person to know. Q: One the things people are saying is that Derek is a serial playboy. Is this true? A: We’ve been together for so long, do you think I would tolerate such a behaviour? Q: What about stories linking you to John Lloyd? A: That I have to say something about. John Lloyd is a really great guy and Shaina [Magdayao] and I belong to the same studio. We’re not the best of friends, but we’re okay. They were a nice couple, it’s just sad it didn’t work out, and I wasn’t the cause of that. Q: You’re now filming a movie with John. Is there a chance that you two could fall for each other? A: I’m not closing my doors, but I really don’t think I am ready yet. When people see us together, it’s either we’re in a shoot or we’re just hanging out. We’re working together — rapport is important. Q: It’s bad enough that people say you caused one break-up. But to be accused of also being the cause of the split between John and Bianca... How do you feel about that? A: That’s true, and it’s quite disappointing. I’m not desperate for a man, especially a committed one. There are many fish in the ocean. And as I’ve said, I’m not ready to go into another relationship. Besides, John is a good [friend] from way back. We do a show together, that’s probably why people make up all these stories. We will of course be seen together, and there are times when we will be going out. He is after all a good friend. Nothing wrong with that. Q: How are you coping? A: I’m trying to find ways to be happy on my own. I want to feel that happiness, that joy, so much that if I have enough of it, I can share it with someone.
