Anne Hathaway is open to reprising Catwoman.
The 31-year-old actress portrayed the character in The Dark Knight Rises in 2012. The film marked the end of director Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, but Hathaway told IGN she would be interested in future DC films or a standalone movie.
"I would totally be up for doing it," she said of a solo film. "If Chris was involved. For me, the thing that made doing that part particularly fun was that she existed in his Gotham. Without him I don't think it would be the same thing."
"I'd definitely love [to cameo, too]," she shared. "I think [Catwoman's] got an amazing backstory and it would be great to see her get her own film, but I don't know. She is someone who... mystery serves her well, so I don't know what a whole film would do."
Hathaway said the character's nature as a thief might make her more suitable for a small part in a larger feature. She suggested a Catwoman cameo and "go through and steal aspects of [a] film," because she isn't sure if a movie would work if "the focus is squarely on her."
Halle Berry starred as the antiheroine in feature film Catwoman in 2004. The movie grossed $82 million on a $100 million budget, and was widely panned by critics. The film currently holds a 9 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Hathaway will portray Amelia in new Christopher Nolan film Interstellar on November 7. The actress is scheduled to star in Nancy Meyers movie The Intern in 2015, and will reprise the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass in 2016.
