Prominent Egyptian actress Elham Shaheen stated that she refuses to accept the discussions of a new law to be passed by parliament calling for the deletion of all intimate scenes in Egyptian films. The actress stated that parliament should pay more attention to matters of concern to the country as a whole rather than waste their time on what should and should not be included in films. With regards to the release of a new law forbidding any star from taking an active role in politics, Elham said that stars do not take part in politics and no one she knows from the entertainment world has any intention of running for any political position for being a star is more rewarding and powerful than any political seat. With regards to her stance in the case against prominent Egyptian comedian actor Adel Emam and his three months jail sentence for blasphemy against Islam in his projects, Elham said she is not worried with such a verdict especially since the actor still has a chance to appeal and she is confident that Adel will be found innocent.
