The two-time "Sexiest Man Alive" award winner, George Clooney, is no longer available. The actor married British-Lebanese human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin in Venice on Saturday. The ceremony was officiated by close friend and former mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni.
The 53-year-old Clooney and new bride Alamuddin, 36, were joined in Venice by many of their celebrity friends, including Bono, Bill Murray, Cindy Crawford, Robert De Niro, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. Clooney, as well as his friends and family, could be seen as water taxis ferried the wedding-goers to the Aman Canal Grande Hotel.
Crowds lined the Grand Canale and its bridges to cheer on the just-married couple as their flotilla of taxis cruised by. Boats carrying paparazzi swarmed the floating motorcade as it carried guests to the ceremony and reception.
Hotel workers could be seen building a tunnel-like barricade, early Saturday, to shield the celebs from the prying eyes of fans and photographers as they exited their taxis and entered the hotel.
The couple got engaged in April of this year. Clooney is previously married -- wed to actress Talia Balsam in 1989, but divorced four years later.
