J.K. Rowling plans to build a "Hagrid hut" on her Scottish estate.
The 49-year-old author will install a summerhouse modeled after the Harry Potter character's stone-built home. The hut will be erected near the edge of a forest that borders the 162-acre grounds of Killiechassie Estate.
Rowling bought the estate for roughly $3 million in 2001, and married husband Dr. Neil Murray in the library of the manor house that December. The proposed hut will be circular, with an open front, stone bench and slate roof.
Rubeus Hagrid is the half-giant gamekeeper at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and is portrayed by Robbie Coltrane in the Harry Potter series of films. The character is known for his long hair and beard, and gruff but tenderhearted persona.
Warner Bros. announced earlier this week Rowling's Fantastic Creatures and Where to Find Them will be split into at least three films. The first film will mark the author's screenwriting debut, with David Yates as director.
