Joan Jett

Joan Jett has teamed up with retailer Hot Topic and Tripp NYC to create her first ever clothing line.
The 56-year-old rocker unveiled her new collection, Joan Jett for Tripp NYC, during an interview with Women's Wear Daily that was published Thursday.
"I've talked about doing something like this over the years but nothing ever came to fruition. Daang and Ray really get my styles and I didn't have to do the nuts and bolts of the design," Jett said. "They take my essence and translate my vibe and we go from there."
Jett's collection features grungy pants, jackets, sweaters and tops in black and red. All items are priced between $32.50 and $64.50.
"I've known about Hot Topic for years and years because on the road there are very few places in certain areas of the country where you can find kind of rock 'n' roll clothes," she said of the Southern California-based brand. "And Tripp is kind of famous in New York for catering to that rock 'n' roll downtown, edgy kind of vibe."
Jett's brand was created off of her own personal style and is meant to appeal to both women and men. When asked to define her own look, the rocker said that was a "tough thing to put on words."
"It sounds kind of cliché to say but minimalist, rock 'n' roll, edgy and dark, but they all apply to my style — androgynous because I don't have a bunch of curves," she said. "I know a lot of boys who wear girls' clothes especially in rock bands. Guys like to wear girls clothes because sometimes they're more stylish and better looking [than] guys' clothes."
In addition to her new clothing brand, Jett has been keeping busy with several cinematographic projects. She's producing the movie Undateable John, and has upcoming roles in Stephen King' new movie Big Driver and in HBO's documentary Foo Fighters Sonic Highways. She'll also appear in Denis Leary's new project Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll.
