Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker's marriage is as strong as ever.
The 52-year-old actor detailed his relationship with the 49-year-old actress Wednesday on The Meredith Vieira Show. Broderick and Parker have been married for 17 years, and the star told Vieira the secret to their lasting success is communication.
"We really are friends beyond everything else and we talk a lot," he shared. "Keep talking I guess, I know how cliché that is. Too much silence is definitely not a good idea ... She's really funny, she makes me laugh. That's good. I wish I had [better advice]."
Broderick and Parker married in May 1997, and the actress gave birth to their first child, son James Wilkie, in November 2002. The couple welcomed twin daughters Marion Loretta and Tabitha Hodge via surrogate in June 2009.
Broderick most recently appeared as Borden Chase in The American Side, and is scheduled for Dirty Weekend and a new Warren Beaty project. Parker last starred as Isabelle Wright on ABC series Glee, and is rumored for a third Sex and the City movie.
