Nick Cannon (L) and Mariah Carey

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are officially headed for divorce.
The 34-year-old actor filed the papers December 12, according to TMZ. Additional sources suggest Carey was three hours late to the Rockfeller Center tree lighting ceremony December 3 because she was discussing the settlement with her lawyer.
Cannon and Carey met on the set of the 44-year-old singer's music video for "Bye Bye," and married six weeks later in April 2008. The couple are parents to three-year-old fraternal twins: daughter Monroe and son Moroccan.
News of the couple's separation broke in August 2014, with Cannon later confirming the split. The actor has repeatedly stressed his dedication to his family since, and denied his new album will slam Carey in December.
Cannon released his second studio album, White People Party Music, in April 2014, while Carey debuted her 14th studio record, Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse, in May. The singer announced a Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace this week.
